Chamber and Daily Facts to host candidate forum

REDLANDS - The Redlands Chamber of Commerce and the Redlands Daily Facts will host a candidate forum for the Redlands City Council at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, in the council chambers.
All seven candidates - two incumbents and five challengers - have been invited to participate. The forum will be moderated by Paul Foster, president-elect of the chamber. Daily Facts Editor James Folmer will serve as timekeeper.
The forum will be television on Time Warner Cable Channel 3. The council chambers are in City Hall, 35 Cajon St., Redlands.

Third Candidate Qualifies for Redlands City Council Race

Thursday, August 09, 2007 - Lorrie Poyzer, City Clerk just announced that Pete Aguilar, has qualified to run for Redlands City Council. To date, while seven potential candidates have pulled papers, only two – Eddie Tejeda and Pete Aguilar – have qualified. Additionally, Mike Reynolds has also qualified for the ballot for the office of City Treasurer, an office he currently holds.

Election countdown is just beginning -
The race for Redlands City Council is just warming up! So far, seven candidates have pulled papers, including newspaper publisher Jerry Bean, retired school teacher, Nancy White, incumbents Pete Aguilar and Gil Gilberto, financier Jeff Sceranka, Eddie Tejeda of the North Redlands Visioning Committee and, fifth generation to Redlands candidate, Henry Nickel. Candidates have until Friday, Aug. 10 to turn in their 20 to 30 signatures supporting their candidacy.
Joell Ackerman, who is running against incumbent Poyzer for city clerk, has also completed his paperwork and qualified for the ballot. Currently, Mike Reynolds is running uncontested for city treasurer.

Following the confirmation of this year’s candidates, information on the various campaigns will be easily accessed on RedlandsWeb. Lorrie Poyzer, City Clerk, stated that as of Wednesday, August 08, 2007 there has been only one confirmed City Council candidate, and two for City Clerk.
The last day for filing nominations at the City Clerk’s Office is on Friday, August 10. Final confirmations are not expected until the week of August 13. Ballot order will be determined on August 16.
