ACCLAIMED GUITARIST AND SOPRANO TO PERFORM AT THE REDLANDS BOWL SUMMER MUSIC FESTIVAL ON AUGUST 1, 2003

Redlands, CA.- Two virtuoso soloists Brad Richter, accomplished classical guitarist, and Nancy Davis Booth, acclaimed soprano, team up to create an unforgettable evening of music. Bringing together their backgrounds in classical, jazz, Broadway, and folk music, they have created bold new interpretations of classical and contemporary literature. From the rhythmic and haunting lyricism of Villa-Lobos to the nostalgic Americana of Gershwin, the art of song is rediscovered.
Nancy Davis Booth’s career includes live concerts, oratorio, opera, musical theatre and cabaret. She has performed with numerous symphonies such as the Colorado Symphony, the Tucson Symphony, the Las Vegas Philharmonic and many others. She has performed at the White House, Arlington Cemetery, and the Annapolis Chapel and with such notables as Mark Russell, Sammy Davis Jr. and Ann Hampton Callaway. The Arizona Daily Star has described her as “…a soprano with a voice to die for.”
Brad Richter, is an accomplished composer whose works have been published by Mel Bay and GSP and have been performed by guitarists around the world. He was awarded the presidential scholarship to the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago. He received his Master of Music degree from the Royal College of Music in London. He has performed as a soloist and with renowned chamber ensembles and orchestras throughout North America and Europe. At 32, his contributions to the guitar’s literature have already been recognized with the inclusion of his biography in the 5th edition of the music history and reference book The Classical Guitar- Its Evolution, Players and Personalities Since 1800.
This one-thousand, nine-hundred and fifty-third event at the Redlands Bowl Summer Music Festival will begin at 8:15 p.m. following the Community Sing at 7:20 led by Curtiss Allen, Sr., and accompanied by Harriet Talbert. Ushers for the concert will be members of the San Bernardino Masonic Lodge #178 and employees of LA-Z-Boy West in Redlands. KVCR general manager Larry Holden will be the intermission speaker.
All events of the Redlands Bowl Summer Music Festival are presented without an admission charge, with a free-will offering collected at intermission.
