Local History Day Brings Twenty Authors to Redlands Proceeds to benefit the Redlands Bowl

Redlands, CA - More than twenty local writers and historians will gather at the Redlands Barnes & Noble store on Saturday, November 1, from 12pm-3pm to participate in a Local History Day organized by the bookstore to benefit the Redlands Bowl.

“From Redlands and San Bernardino to Lake Arrowhead and Riverside’s Mission Inn, the Inland Empire is a diverse and historical region,” said Erin Job, store manager at Barnes & Noble. “We’re pleased to draw the public eye to these special books highlighting our history and diversity.”

Among those scheduled to attend are: John Weeks, author of “Inland Empire;” Steven Shaw, who is president of the City of San Bernardino Historical and Pioneer Society and author of “San Bernardino” and “San Bernardino Fire Department;” Kenneth Holtzclaw, author of “Cherry Valley,” “Beaumont,” and “Banning;” “The Harris Company” authors Richard and Robin Hanks; Kim Jarrell Johnson, writer of "Rubidoux" and "Jurupa;" Roger G. Hatheway, who wrote “Rim Of The World Drive” and “Lake Arrowhead;” Rhea-Frances Tetley, author of “Crestline;” J R Sanders of the book “Oak Glen and Los Rios Rancho;” and Bob Lehmann and Bob Blanck, co-writers of “San Gorgonio Search and Rescue Team,” and many more.

“This is a great opportunity to learn more about our heritage,” said Barnes & Noble’s Job. “These authors are the true experts in their fields.”

Also, as part of an effort to benefit the Redlands Bowl, community members can mention the Bowl at the registers and Barnes & Noble will donate a percentage of the proceeds to the organization.

The Saturday, November 1st signing will take place from 12pm-3pm at Barnes & Noble in the Citrus Plaza shopping center at 27460 Lugonia Ave Redlands. For more information, call (909)793-4322.
