Joe Greensleeves

Have you ever re-discovered a favorite restaurant and experienced it in a whole new way? This is what we found recently at Joe Greensleeves as we savored a delicious and elegant lunch. What was once our tradition for special dinner occasions alone has now become an appealing higher-end lunch option.

Located in the historic Phinney Block Building on Orange Street in downtown Redlands, Joe Greensleeves offers a comfortable, upscale dining experience. For starters, we recommend the Soup of Two Soups, a long-time signature dish. This colorful and flavor-packed

combination of two pureed soups is not to be missed.

The menu boasts several appetizers at $12-15 and good for sharing. You will also find affordable sandwiches and burgers that are paired with mixed fruit and tangy, leafy greens embellished with tomatoes and creamy parmesan dressing, then topped with fresh parmesan crumbles, all in the $10-15 dollar range. Luncheon salads ($9-18) and main dishes ($15-20) complete the menu, each served with crusty bread straight from the oven.

On this occasion, we thoroughly enjoyed two pasta dishes: the Spinach and Cheese Ravioli, made with homemade pasta shells bathed in a smooth, rich, tomato sauce; and the Spinach-Ricotta Gnocchi covered in a savory marinara infused with sautéed spinach, onions, garlic, and homegrown tomatoes and herbs from the chef’s personal garden.

Perhaps you are looking for the perfect location for that upcoming business lunch, or perhaps you simply desire a peaceful moment with your friend or lover while consuming gourmet fare.  Whether it is your first visit or, like us, a re-discovery of a special dining experience, consider Joe.
