6/9/2009 - Orphaned Children Receive the Gift of a High School Education by Residents of The Village at Redlands Redlands, CA June 4, 2009 — The residents of The Village at Redlands retirement community, are proudly sending two orphaned children from Lesotho, Africa to high school. The residents joined together to raise funds for Mountain Hope Kingdom Foundation, a non-profit organization that has endeavored to make a difference in the lives of less fortunate children in Africa. It was an exciting day at The Village at Redlands after the residents counted their donations and found that they could send two children to high school this year! A $660.00 check was presented to Troy Vugteveen, the Executive Director of The Village at Redlands by Mel Borrell, a resident of The Village. Mr. Vugteveen stated that, “the check that has been sent to Mountain Hope Kingdom foundation is a reflection of the hearts of those who reside here at The Village. The hope is that this gift will have a lifelong impact on the two children that have been given an opportunity to go to school and that in turn, their lives can be a blessing to many others”.
