11/12/2009 - “Schmooze” for Writers to be held at Barnes and Noble in Redlands on Saturday November 14 “Schmooze” for Writers to be held at Barnes and Noble in Redlands on Saturday November 14 November 09, 2009, Redlands, CA—The Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators announces a “Shmooze” at Barnes and Noble on Saturday, November 14 from 10-12 a.m. Shmoozes are open to anyone interested in writing or illustrating children’s books. This month’s speaker will be Q. L. Pearce (http://www.qlpearce.com/), author of more than 140 books for children who will speak on the topic, “Work-for-Hire.” Don't miss this opportunity to learn all this valuable information from an expert. Two volumes of her Plays That Show Character Counts, are currently offered as a part of the national Character Counts! program. Q is an Assistant Regional Advisor for the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators and currently a member of the SCBWI Advisory Board. The group will meet at the Starbucks inside Barnes and Noble. Everyone is welcome to attend, but seating is limited.
