3/18/2010 - Family Bird-watching Workshop and Field Trip
Redlands, CA - Birds are the most common wild animals we see, and possibly the most entertaining animal to watch. The education division of the San Bernardino County Museum will host a workshop on birds and lead a field trip to a local Redlands park on Saturday, March 27 starting at 7am. Space is limited; registration deadline is Tuesday, March 23.
“We will learn more about the birds in our area while enjoying a day outdoors,” said Curator of Education Jolene Redvale. “The whole family will participate in learning bird-watching skills, including how to use binoculars and basic birding etiquette.”
The workshop will be at the museum from 7am to 9am. Then participants will caravan to a local park to spot birds at work and play. Everyone is encouraged to bring their own picnic lunch.
The cost of this workshop and field trip is $30 for the whole family, or $15 for an individual. Wear sturdy shoes and hats, and bring binoculars and field guides. Some binoculars and field guides will be available for loan. This program is designed for ages 8 and up.
